If there was a piece of art that you could feel sorry for, this one would be it.
You know where it's been for about 2 years? In my workshop.
It was first meant for a guitar. On the flip side, it has a cut out, from where a guitar was going to be made out of this piece.
But, then that wasn't going well, so it turned into a table. My very first table. That I made. It was smallish, but I liked it. It was listed and received some attention. Then....
Well, then we moved. And, during the move, one of the legs cracked off.
Isn't that sad?
So, it then sat in the workshop for I didn't know what to do with it. I eventually took off the remainder of the legs, and then it sat there some more. Looking for a piece of scrap wood last week, I saw it. Dusted it off, and took the remainder of the table parts off the backside.
I sanded it.
Then, gave it a fresh and new coat of mineral oil.
This floral art piece is made out of reclaimed poplar, with routed edges.
The maroon flowers and green leaves were hand painted, by me, at our kitchen table.
Because it's reclaimed wood, the piece comes with its fair share of dings and nail holes. If you see this as character, than this piece may just be meant for you.
Measures approximately 11 1/4" square and 3/4" thick.
Handmade from Texas. Could have been a guitar, kinda wanted to be a table, but it just wasn't meant to be.
Now, it's art, currently seeking good home. :)
